That is probably the biggest speed boost to editing work I’ve found so far. I do like how the takes are in a stack instead of a text list and can be edited to make a composite clip of the best parts of each take. I can’t think of anything specific that feels wrong, just a little different.

Maybe the only thing I miss is the audio region editing being a smoother process but I think that’s just me being used to editing in PT.

This drum kit is unique compared to other rock drum kits.

or rather, anything that isn’t a Digidesign or Avid interface is not all that great, which was one of the main bitches people had with Digidesign in the first place – being locked into their hardware. Ideally suited for metal, rock and pop productions, the MT Power Drum Kit is a free drum sampler offering a variety of high-quality realistic sounding drum effects. Tests have been exceptionally recorded and handled to make them in a perfect world suited for use in pop, shake and metal preparations. It’s not necessarily a point against PT, but in PT you have to use the HUI protocol and my understanding is that the HUI support in PT has always been a bit lacking. The MT Power Drum Kit is a free drum sampler offering the intense, great hints of an acoustic, reasonable drum unit. Still trying to get used to it but anyone who has used one should be right at home behind that control surface.

It’s extremely well supported in Logic Pro X and the manual for control surfaces in Logic is basically the missing manual for the Behringer. I bought a Behringer Xtouch and it’s basically a cheaper clone of the Mackie MCU, down to the button layout. Logic Pro X seems easier to me for that kind of work. The other thing is, I’m primarily a rock/metal musician, so most of my recording work is geared around recording instruments, and also doing voiceover work and audio for video (commercials). There’s nothing I’ve run into that couldn’t be done with Logic, and MIDI is so much nicer to work with as far as writing and composing in Logic. I started using it around version 6 and stopped upgrading at version 10, I really can’t think of anything I miss from it. Honestly, I was never a super heavy user of PT, but I learned digital recording on it after transitioning from analog.
